Indigenous Microorganisms 3, often abbreviated as IMO 3, is the third stage in the Indigenous Microorganism (IMO) process, which is a technique used in natural farming and sustainable agriculture. In this stage, the microorganisms from IMO 1 and IMO 2 are further cultured and refined. IMO 3 typically involves collecting beneficial indigenous microorganisms from the natural environment, such as forests or healthy soils, and then cultivating and multiplying these microorganisms in a controlled environment.
The goal of IMO3 is to enhance the diversity and effectiveness of beneficial microorganisms that can be used to improve soil health, enhance plant growth, and reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture. It is a key component of natural farming practices, especially in systems like Korean Natural Farming (KNF) and other similar approaches that emphasize the use of indigenous microorganisms to promote sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
